BENT SORENSEN (ĐAN MẠCH, 1958)

Bent Sorensen học âm nhạc với các nhà soạn nhạc Đan Mạch Ib Nørholm (1932) và Per Norgard (1932)

Các tác phẩm thời trưởng thành của ông tạo ra một cảm giác về sự điêu tàn, đó là thứ cảm giác tương tự như khi xem một tác phẩm thị giác già cỗi. Có một cảm giác của  vẻ đẹp bị tổn thương. Sørensen đạt được điều này bằng cách xử lý các âm thanh lớn / nhỏ với các biến thể microton và làm mờ sự hòa hợp với glissandi. Bent Sorensen viết đủ các thể loại, oprera  Under the Sky được công chiếu năm 2004 tại Nhà hát hoàng gia, Copenhagen, các tác phẩm  cho dàn nhạc, dàn hợp xướng, nhạc thính phòng, các tác phẩm  cho các nhạc cụ, đặc biệt ông không viết âm nhạc điện tử.

Từ năm 2008, ông là giáo sư thỉnh giảng tại Học viện Âm nhạc Hoàng gia London.

Nó hầu như chỉ là một nhạc sĩ về nhạc cụ, Bent Sørensen đã làm nên tên tuổi  ông giữa những thập niên tám mươi, là một trong những nhạc sĩ người Đan Mạch được nghe nhiều nhất của thế hệ ông, ở cấp độ quốc tế cũng như cấp quốc gia.

Chính thứ âm nhạc dường như luôn làm cho bộ nhớ trở thành chủ đề của nó, gợi lên những ký ức hoặc những hồi tưởng vô thức – với tất cả những kịch bản trong bóng tối, sự thay thế và những điều mơ hồ của ký ức, thứ âm nhạc, nơi mà câu chuyện không chỉ là hiện tại như một cái gì đó bên ngoài chúng ta, như một cái gì đó có thể được quan sát hoặc đối xử như một vật thể, mà còn là trong chính chúng ta, liên tục sống với chúng ta, và cũng được hiểu theo nghĩa hiện tại (music where the story is not only present as something outside us, something that can be observed or treated like an object, but is within ourselves, constantly lives with us and is also interpreted in terms of the present.)
