The work was originally numbered as Mr. De Raaff’s second symphony, but after including the Symphony for Saxophone Quartet & Orchestra in his cycle of symphonies (as No. 2), the current work has been renamed Symphony No. 3. Its subtitle is unchanged: ‘Illumination … Eclipse’.
