Guitar Concerto « Pegasus Effect »

吉松 隆 Takashi Yoshimatsu – Guitar Concerto Pegasus Effect, Op.21 (1984) I. Bird Allegro

The ‘Pegasus Effect’ is the transformation
which occurs when an earthly bound horse is
given wings and made into a heavenly horse.
This piece is part of the transformed bird
series and is a kind of prologue to the subject
of transformation. (‘Temma’ is a horse with
wings in Japanese folklore.)
The work has three parts as in concerto
form in the classical style.
I Bird. Sonata form allegro, floating the
warped Renaissance-style songs and bird
songs.
II Flower. Nostalgic hymn of dreams, with the
floating gentle breeze and pale light.
III Wind. Escape from the labyrinth or presto
dedicated to the youths who gallop through
the end of the century
